Request an Appointment
Legal help does not have to be all or nothing. Raquel Spencer Law was founded in part to help close the gap between people who need legal knowledge and people who can afford traditional full-service representation.
If you are handling a matter yourself but need an attorney’s help with a specific question, decision, document, or next step, you may request an appointment for focused, one-on-one legal guidance. You remain responsible for the portions of the matter that are outside the specific services agreed upon in writing.
An Appointment May Help You:
- Ask questions about a specific legal issue
- Understand your rights and available options
- Identify an appropriate next step
- Get guidance while representing yourself
- Discuss forming or operating a business
- Have a specific issue or situation assessed
- Request review of a document
- Decide whether additional legal services may be necessary
How It Works
Submit Your Request
Provide basic information about yourself, the matter, the other people or businesses involved, and the specific assistance you are seeking. Do not submit confidential documents or a detailed factual history at this stage.
Firm Review
The firm will review the request for potential conflicts of interest and determine whether the requested assistance is appropriate for a limited-scope appointment.
Approval
If the request is approved, you will receive instructions for selecting an available appointment time.
Agreement, Scheduling, and Payment
Before the appointment is confirmed, you will sign a written agreement defining the limited scope of the service, select an available time, and complete payment.
Meet With the Attorney
Your appointment will focus on the specific issue identified and accepted by the firm.
Important Limitations
An appointment does not include ongoing representation, court appearances, filing documents, communicating with another party or attorney, monitoring court deadlines, or managing the entire legal matter unless the firm separately agrees to provide those services in writing.
The firm may determine that a matter is not appropriate for limited-scope assistance or that the person should obtain full representation.
Submitting a request does not create an attorney-client relationship, reserve an appointment, or guarantee that the request will be accepted. An attorney-client relationship begins only after the firm approves the matter and the required written agreement has been signed.
Optional Document Review
You may request advance review of documents for an additional fee. Document review is subject to reasonable page and time limits, and must be submitted through the firm’s secure client system by the stated deadline.
Advance document review does not include written revisions, drafting, a written legal opinion, or additional work unless separately agreed in writing.
